An early 18th century walnut bureau bookcase
The quarter veneered panel doors over candle slides open to reveal an arrangement of oak lined drawers and a central cupboard which houses 3 further drawers. The base of two-part construction - the beautiful figured burr walnut "fall" with feather banded detail and bookrest moulding opens to an interior with a sliding "well" and secret compartments above featherbanded drawer fronts that have had various sets of handles over the years - raised on later turned bun feet.
